Loaded Queso
This homemade loaded queso is so easy to make and 10x better than store-bought!
Servings: 20-25
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp white flour
- 1 tbsp minced garlic (or 6 cloves minced)
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 Roma tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
- 3 cups shredded cheddar
- 6 slices pepper jack cheese
- 1 can black beans, rinsed
Directions:
- Add flour and butter to a pot and mix together for 3-4 minutes
- Once it starts to brown add the garlic, chili powder and salt and mix together for another 1-2 minutes
- Add in milk, vegetables, cheese and mix together until cheese is melted
- Add in black beans until well combined and serve hot
- Enjoy!
Notes:
- If it gets thick when warming it up out of the fridge, add a little milk to loosen it back up
- If you want to kick up the spice I recommend adding a few dashes of habanero sauce - my favorite is El Yucateco brand!
